hiRenn Privacy Policy
Effective Date: October 7, 2026
hiRenn (“hiRenn,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides free children’s stories, read-along videos, coloring activities, printable pages, voting activities, and information for parents and grown-ups.
We take children’s privacy seriously. hiRenn is designed so that children can use the core reading, watching, and coloring experiences without creating an account or providing personal information.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to families.
1. Who Operates hiRenn
Website: hiRenn.com
Contact email: hinqillc@gmail.com
Parents or guardians with privacy questions may contact us using the information above.
2. Information We Do Not Intentionally Ask Children to Provide
The current version of hiRenn does not require children to create accounts.
We do not intentionally ask children to provide:
- their full name
- email address
- home address
- telephone number
- birthday
- school name
- precise location
- photographs of themselves
- voice recordings
- private messages
- payment information
Online coloring is currently intended to work without requiring the child to upload or publicly share a finished picture with hiRenn.
If future features change these practices, we will update this Privacy Policy and implement appropriate parental notice and consent procedures before collecting personal information from children where required by law.
3. Information Parents and Grown-Ups May Provide
Parents or grown-ups may voluntarily provide an email address to receive updates about new Renn adventures, free activities, and related project news.
When a grown-up signs up, we may store:
- email address
- signup date and time
- the page or adventure where the signup occurred
- an optional voting choice
- confirmation that the person represented that they are a parent or grown-up age 18 or older
- subscription and unsubscribe status
Voting does not require an email address.
We do not require a parent to provide a child’s name or other child information when subscribing.
4. How We Use Parent Email Addresses
We use adult subscriber email addresses to:
- announce new Renn adventures
- share free activities
- provide occasional hiRenn project updates
- communicate information requested by the subscriber
- maintain subscription and unsubscribe records
We currently expect to send approximately one email per week, although frequency may vary.
Subscribers may unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe option provided in our emails or by contacting us.
We do not sell parent email addresses.
5. Anonymous and Aggregate Site Analytics
We may collect limited information about how visitors use hiRenn so that we can understand which stories, coloring pages, and activities are useful.
Examples may include:
- pages viewed
- adventure viewed
- story started or completed
- read-along started or completed
- coloring page opened
- coloring activity started
- print or download actions
- votes submitted
- links to Amazon clicked
- referring website or campaign
- general device/browser information needed to operate the site
Our goal is to understand how content performs, not to create profiles of individual children.
We intend to minimize analytics data, avoid unnecessary persistent identifiers, and avoid storing precise location or raw IP addresses in our own analytics system where they are not required for security or basic website operation.
We do not use hiRenn analytics to build advertising profiles of children.
6. Cookies and Similar Technologies
hiRenn may use cookies, local storage, or similar technologies when needed to:
- operate the website
- remember basic preferences
- maintain anonymous session functionality
- prevent abuse
- measure aggregate site usage
We do not intend to use behavioral advertising cookies directed at children.
Because third-party services can change their technologies and policies, we periodically review the tools used on hiRenn.
7. YouTube Read-Along Videos
hiRenn may embed read-along videos hosted by YouTube.
When a visitor plays an embedded YouTube video, YouTube or Google may receive technical information in accordance with their own privacy practices.
Where appropriate, hiRenn will use privacy-conscious embed settings and configure child-directed video content consistently with applicable YouTube and children’s privacy requirements.
Parents should understand that YouTube is a separate service with its own privacy practices.
8. Amazon Links
hiRenn contains links to physical Renn books sold on Amazon.
If a visitor clicks an Amazon link, they leave hiRenn and enter Amazon’s website.
Amazon operates under its own privacy policy and terms.
hiRenn does not receive a visitor’s Amazon account information or payment-card information merely because the visitor clicks one of these links.
9. Online Coloring
The current online coloring experience is designed to work primarily on the visitor’s own device.
A child can color a page without creating an account.
When a visitor chooses to download a finished picture, the goal is for that image to be generated and saved locally to the visitor’s device rather than uploaded to hiRenn.
If we later introduce cloud saving, accounts, sharing, or other features involving stored artwork, we will explain those practices before the features are introduced.
10. Voting
Families may vote on possible future Renn adventures.
Voting does not require an email address.
We may record:
- the selected option
- the date/time of the vote
- anonymous technical information reasonably necessary to prevent duplicate or abusive voting
We do not need a child’s identity in order to count a vote.
After voting, a parent or grown-up may separately choose to subscribe by email.
11. Third-Party Service Providers
hiRenn may use service providers to operate the website, including services for:
- website hosting
- database storage
- security
- email delivery
- video hosting
- analytics
- error monitoring
These providers may process information only as necessary to provide their services and according to their own contractual and legal obligations.
Current or anticipated providers may include services such as Lovable, Supabase, YouTube/Google, Amazon, and a future email-delivery provider.
We will review third-party services before using them in child-facing portions of hiRenn.
12. Children’s Privacy
hiRenn is designed for families with young children.
The Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (“COPPA”) regulates certain collection of personal information from children under 13. Among other things, covered child-directed services must provide appropriate notice to parents and obtain verifiable parental consent before collecting certain personal information from children. Federal Trade Commission
The current version of hiRenn is intentionally structured so children can use the core experience without submitting personal information to us.
If we introduce features that collect personal information from children under 13 — such as personalized child accounts, saved progress tied to a child, conversational features that collect identifiable information, uploaded media, or similar functionality — we will evaluate the feature before launch and implement parental notice, consent, access, deletion, security, and retention procedures where required.
Parents may contact us at hinqillc@gmail.com with questions regarding children’s privacy.
13. Future Accounts and Personalized Learning
hiRenn may eventually introduce features such as:
- parent-managed accounts
- saved learning progress
- personalized reading activities
- educational conversational tools
- app features
- saved preferences
These features are not promises about current functionality.
Before introducing them, we will review what information is genuinely necessary and update our privacy disclosures and parental controls as appropriate.
We intend to minimize unnecessary personal information.
14. Advertising
The current hiRenn experience is not intended to use behavioral advertising directed at children.
If advertising, sponsorships, affiliate relationships, or other monetization methods are introduced or changed in the future, we will review their privacy implications and update this Privacy Policy where appropriate.
We do not sell children’s personal information.
15. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards intended to protect personal information we maintain.
For example, subscriber information is intended to be stored in a protected backend database that is not publicly readable.
Only authorized administrators should be able to access subscriber records.
No website or online service can guarantee absolute security, but we work to limit access and collect only information reasonably needed for the service.
16. Data Retention
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, legal obligations, security, dispute resolution, or legitimate operational needs.
Parent email subscription records may be retained while the subscription is active and for a reasonable period afterward to honor unsubscribe requests and maintain required records.
We will periodically review unnecessary stored information and delete or anonymize it when appropriate.
17. Parent Rights and Requests
Parents and grown-ups may contact us to ask questions about information associated with them or their children.
Where applicable, requests may include:
- confirming whether we maintain personal information
- requesting access
- correcting information
- requesting deletion
- withdrawing consent
- unsubscribing from email communications

If we later collect personal information directly from children, we will provide parents the review, deletion, and consent controls required by applicable law. The FTC specifically requires covered operators to give parents rights to review or delete a child’s personal information and refuse further collection or use. Federal Trade Commission
18. California and Other State Privacy Rights
Residents of certain states may have additional privacy rights depending on the information collected and whether applicable statutory thresholds are met.
For example, California law requires commercial websites collecting personal information to disclose categories of information collected and certain sharing/sale practices. California also provides heightened protections regarding the sale of personal information belonging to minors. California DOJ Attorney General
If hiRenn becomes subject to additional state privacy requirements, we will provide the notices and request mechanisms required by those laws.
19. Links to Other Websites
hiRenn may contain links to websites or services operated by others.
We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third-party services.
Parents should review the privacy policies of external websites they choose to visit.
20. Changes to This Privacy Policy
hiRenn will evolve.
We may update this Privacy Policy when:
- new features are introduced
- our information practices change
- service providers change
- laws or regulatory requirements change
The revised policy will show an updated effective date.
If a change materially affects information previously collected from children under parental consent, we will provide any additional parental notice or consent required by law. Federal Trade Commission
